The Academy

The Academy represents a myriad of life skills, related trainings, and services that seeks to support, assist, and equip the formerly incarcerated in successful reentry into society, to become and remain, healthy, productive citizens in their communities while reconciling family relationships and protecting the integrity of neighborhoods.

 

It is with this mission in mind that Tower has established components of The Academy.   Please note that when a client of TOR enters its Academy, his or hers immediate needs are established and met. TOR provides funds for newly released offenders to get birth certificates or state identification cards. It provides survival kits as well as bus tokens, if transportation is needed. Referrals are made to many of the partners of Springfield’s CSAC or other community resources to assist people in with food, clothing, and shelter requests.  Before anyone can focus on changing his or her future, their immediate needs must be addressed.
